How to apply.

(Our web browser is not Mac compatible or cellphone compatible, you must be on a PC) To apply go to our website, www.usps.com. Click the word “careers” located at the bottom left hand corner of the page. On the next page scroll down to the large blue button that says, “Apply Now” and you will be directed to the page where you will begin searching for jobs. You search for jobs by state, for example, if you want to work in Maine you will scroll down to Maine and highlight it. Once Maine has been highlighted you will hit the “start” button and every job in Maine will be displayed. Each posting will include the jobs title and town it resides in. Click on the job you are interested in and the jobs full description will open. To apply, click the “apply” button on the upper left-hand side of the page and fill out the application. Check your email regularly for correspondence from the USPS. (Please note, most jobs are posted for only 3 days and are reposted till they are filled.) Reposting can take up to a week so check our website daily. If you do not see a job posted in a town you want to work in, I highly recommend you call or stop in to speak with the local Postmaster and ask them if they have any job vacancies. They will be happy to talk to you, trust me, I am a hiring manager and I am happy to talk to anyone who is interested in working at my office.

DELIVERY OFFICE JOBS

CITY CARRIER ASSISTANT (CCA) – $19.33/Hr. Medical benefits available. CCAs work alongside our city carriers. A typical day for a CCA is sorting mail in the morning and deliver during the day. CCA’s will sometimes cover a route for a carrier who is on vacation or they may deliver small portions of numerous routes. You will be out in the elements year-round, sun, rain, snow and ice. This position is flexible and CCA’s are scheduled as needed. You will work on weekends and holidays. You will be assigned to the office you apply for, but you may be required to travel to nearby offices to deliver mail. CCAs must be available as needed.

RURAL CARR ASSOC/SRV REG RTE – RCA $19.94/Hr. Medical benefits available. Stands for Rural Carrier Associate. RCAs assist our rural carriers. Rural carriers deliver on the outskirts of town to mailboxes on posts and cluster boxes. RCAs cover our rural carriers on their days off, their vacations or when they are out on unscheduled leave. You may work on weekends and holidays. As an RCA you will have the option to work in other offices if you need more hours. You may be required to work in other offices. RCAs must be available as needed.

ASSISTANT RURAL CARRIER (ARC) – $19.94/Hr. Medical benefits are not available for this position. ARCs deliver parcels on rural routes on Sundays and most government recognized holidays. This is a good job if you are looking for a few days of work per week.

(Career) PART TIME FLEXIBLE – (PTF) $24.84/Hr. Medical benefits available. PTFs assist our rural carriers. Rural carriers deliver on the outskirts of town to mailboxes on posts and cluster boxes. RCAs cover our rural carriers on their days off, their vacations or when they are out on unscheduled leave. You may work on weekends and holidays. As an PTF you will have the option to work in other offices if you need more hours. You may be required to work in other offices. PTFs must be available as needed.
