St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a 473-bed Magnet recognized communityteaching hospital committed to continuing Christ’s healing ministry through itsservice to the greater Bridgeport, CT community. Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU)and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) are 14 and 15 bed units which care for many ofthe most acutely ill patients at the hospital. Patients on the units may besuffering from a wide variety of ailments across the medical and surgicalspectrums, including open heart surgery, motor vehicle trauma, stroke andnumerous other diagnoses. We provide personalized, compassionate care to ourpatients through teamwork, humility, and extensive knowledge; always focusingon optimal patient outcomes without compromising the safety of our team,patients or visitors.
Job Summary:
- Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.
- Greets patients and visitors, answers/screens/routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties.
- Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient charts.
- Carries out unit specific clerical functions including but not limited to time keeping, recording, reporting and distribution meeting minutes.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Healthcare and/or receptionist experience preferred.
- Strong customer service acumen and a high level of professionalism required.
- Computer skills and knowledge of basic medical terminology required.
