Job Description:
I. PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides direct patient care and performs selected therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse in addition to providing clerical support.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrates technical skills in computer data entry, maintaining patient charts, transcribing orders,Filing and appropriate documentation.
- Utilizes proper phone etiquette and good communication skills with physicians, nurses, patients, family members, volunteers, and all other healthcare team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
- Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based Guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
4. Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality
initiatives and goals.
5. Maintains competency according to unit specific standards.
6. Provides safe and efficient direct patient care with consideration for age-
specific accommodations.
7. Collaborates with patients, families, and health care team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- High School or GED completion.
- Certified Nursing Assistant documentation preferred.
- BLS for healthcare providers
- Experience: healthcare experience as unit clerk or PCT preferred
- Other Skills:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills
2. , Communication and team building skills
3. Knowledge of medical terminology
5. Knowledge of computer functionality
