Title: Unit/Ward Clerk/CNA

Type: Full – Time

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM + Every Other Weekend

A Unit Clerk is needed at an exciting and face-paced nursing facility in Humboldt, Tennessee is among the fastest growing areas in our country, which brings both excitement and big opportunities to the area. Tennessee State Veterans’ Home is a long-term care and skilled nursing facility dedicated to caring for Tennessee veterans and their families. We are currently looking for a Unit Clerk who will be responsible for the following:

• Organizes nursing station, making copies as needed and thinning charts.
• Keeps supplies current and ready for use, including Admission Packets for the nurses.
• Prepares forms for charts.
• Answers the phone and takes messages as needed.
• Assists with scheduling labs, x-rays and transportation for resident appointments outside the building.
• Answers call lights
• Assist with transporting residents, when needed.
• Attends in-services as required.
• Assists other staff as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a pleasant phone voice and excellent communication skills.
• Must have the ability to set priorities and organize workload
• Must have strong computer skills
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of TN is strongly preferred.
• Previous Unit Secretary/Ward Clerk experience preferred.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred
