Overview:
Summary:
Under moderate supervision, this position supports the underwriting team in providing efficient and accurate handling of the technical aspects of the underwriting process. Provides administrative support to multiple underwriters and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process. This can include policy processing and issuance for new business and/or renewal preparation, quoting and issuance; endorsement processing; cancellations; and/or other policy processing associated tasks Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. May potentially hold a limited Letter of Underwriting Authority. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

The salary range for this role is $ 23.50-26.50. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales and or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides instruction to processing department for new and renewal accounts
  • Provides instruction to processing department for endorsement requests.
  • Processes endorsements that are tasked to be handled within the Underwriting Department.
  • Fulfills brokers requests for, loss runs, copies of policies, copies of invoicing, etc.
  • Provides agency support of general questions regarding renewal status, endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquires, commission questions, etc.).
  • Requoting within current systems as needed with requotes limited to adjustment of credits, debits, or deductibles or any requotes that can be completed within set time frame.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Completes renewal proposals as requested.
  • Manually rates coverages and/or policies that are not fully automated.
  • Handles full renewal process as allowed by Letter of Authority.
  • Completes file documentation according to best practices guidelines.
  • Responds to agent service questions and handles problems and service issues to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Follow up on outstanding issues (i.e. loss control recommendations, etc)
  • Supports the Underwriters in their activities as needed.
  • Keeps current with market trends and demands.
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven research and analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information to provide recommendations
  • Working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Microsoft Office and data-based systems
  • Ability to learn new software applications


Preferred:

  • 3+ years of clerical or administrative experience preferred
  • Insurance industry experience with knowledge of Property and Casualty Lines of coverage.
  • Strong verbal, reading and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
