Hiring Salary: $4,163-$4,850per monthplus a competitive benefits packageincluding a paid family health insurance plan, paid leave (annual leave, sick leave, and 10 paid holidays), retirement plan options, tuition reimbursement, work-life balance/flexibility, an infant-at-work program, and more.
This position is a Monday-Friday day position that is in the Bismarck Office and is eligible for Remote Work.
Summary of Work
An Underwriter supports the department's purpose of providing financial stability through educating, servicing, and protecting our stakeholders. To be successful in this position, you need to be an effective communicator with a forward-thinking mindset ready to apply your decision-making skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing an alpha assignment of employer accounts by

  • Assessing risks of exposure,
  • Determining proper rate classification assignment,
  • Verifying payroll to establish premiums,
  • Analyzing coverage requirements,
  • Completing jurisdictional determinations,
  • Reviewing experience rate calculations, and
  • Assist with account transfers and consolidations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires four years of work experience in an underwriting-related field that included processing insurance policies or endorsements, claims adjusting, or risk management.
  • College-level coursework in accounting, business, healthcare, or closely related fields may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
