Natural Resources - Underwater Robotics Internship

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (up to 29 hrs/week, flexible schedule, some nights, and weekends will be required)

The Education & Volunteer Division is responsible for maintaining a diverse offering of programs within Manatee County's conservation properties and parks; all of which serve to connect participants to nature and inspire a spark of respect and wonder for the natural world.
Underwater Robotics Internship - This internship will focus on offering grant-funded educational programs to teach the basics of underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). The intern will assist in developing lesson plans, teaching lessons, and assisting students build ROV kits at Robinson Preserve. The student course will involve engineering challenges with a competition at the end of the course.

Minimum Qualifications
- Interns must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (must provide an official transcript) or a recent graduate.
- Applicants from all fields, including but not limited to recreation, education, or environmental studies, with a strong interest in public service or public administration are welcome to apply.
- Jobs that fall into this level require some exposure to or familiarity with area of assigned duties.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with circuitry or robotics.
- Experience teaching or working with children.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the public.
- Self-starter, capable of performing individual tasks as part of a larger team.
- Well-organized and able to resolve routine situations and problems.
- Knowledge of business communications.
- Knowledge of office practices, methods, and procedures.
