Leer South is looking for a Underground Surveyor to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.

Job Title:Underground Surveyor (I through IV)

Grade: NX 08, NX 09, NX 10, NX 11

Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

SURVEYOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Responsible for maintaining section development on the correct orientation. This includes setting sights for section advancement with minimal downtime to production, as well as, completing profiles for construction, control traversing and projecting future advancement.
• Setting spads as directed by a party chief/instrument operator
• Capable of extended periods of work from atop a ladder
• Keeping inventory of supplies and notifying supervisor as needed
• Maintaining supply of brass tags, spad wire, and plugs, and making more as needed
• Interface daily with underground supervisors
• Prepare and maintain all relevant files, drawings, records, etc., necessary to document all surveying activities

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and the knowledge and ability to make decisions relative to maintenance.
• Basic computer skills

Hourly rate will be determined by successful candidates knowledge, skills, and abilities.
