SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under limited supervision, Security Officers are responsible for observing and reporting safety and security hazards affecting the personnel and property of Star Protection Agency, LLC customer sites; and to assist in enforcing the client’s safety and security rules and regulations.
The responsibilities required at client sites will vary, so it is important to note that this is a general job description. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacting with a variety of persons including: clients, visitors, public safety officials, employees and the general public
- Following safety rules at all times and reporting any unsafe practices or conditions immediately to your Star Protection Account Manager
- Following site specific post orders, pass down messages and being in compliance with employee handbook guidelines at all times
- Observing and reporting all unusual activity
- Reporting all building utility/service issues
- Patrolling, inspecting and/ or securing access areas into and onto client's premises, as well as to highly sensitive locations within the buildings
- Preparing all required written reports in an ongoing and timely manner, including but not limited to: Daily Activity Reports (DAR’s) and Incident Reports
- Responding, compiling and immediately reporting all information in regards to theft, alarms, accidents and other incidents that may occur
- Enforcing client and company policies and procedures
- Operating phones, radios, and computer systems as needed
- Assisting with access to secured areas for authorized personnel
- Monitoring Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and alarm panels for emergencies and potential issues
- Managing badge compliance
- Providing general access of authorized personnel into building including visitors and their employee sponsors, client employees and / or contractors
- Regulating and directing traffic as necessary
- Escorting employees to their vehicles as requested
- Providing breaks to other officers and clientele on site
- Notifying, assisting and directing emergency personnel as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by client and/or Star Protection
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and/or drive for up to 90% of an 8-12 hour shift (There may be times when an officer is required to work over 12 hours straight to meet the operational needs of the Company)
- Must be able to operate a cell phone, computer and all required office equipment
- Must be able to hand write/type reports, respond to emails, phone calls, texts, reading/writing detailed reports throughout the entire shift assignment
- Must be able to grasp, manipulate, and interact with needed tools and objects on a frequent basis
- Must be able to run and climb stairs without assistance
- Must be able to walk up/down steep inclines surrounding job site
- Must be able to repetitively open heavy glass and metal doors
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds (opening & closing roll up doors)
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to outside elements including inclement weather for up to an 8-12 hour shift
- Must have sufficient hearing to respond to normal verbal speech, alarm signals, radio and telephone communications
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read and understand tenant rosters, employee listings, post orders, maps, computer screens to check identification (such as company badges or driver’s licenses) and to distinguish the faces of employees, contractors and visitors
- Must have a command of the English language that is easily understood
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent 5 star customer service at all times
- Professional communication skills in written, electronic, and verbal format
- Intermediate technology skills including general computer usage, Microsoft Office Suite, other software, and smartphone usage
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Professional demeanor at all times
- Ability to work independently, while also acting as a team player
- HS diploma or GED equivalent required

Any candidate hired for a position at this location will be eligible to receive a $400.00 Bonus, half of which will be awarded on the first payroll following one week of working on-site, and the other half awarded on the payroll following 90 days of work on-site.
