Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment. Leads or mentors lower level team members.
Job Duties:
· Operates ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques.
· Locates, evaluates, and records pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data.
· Schedules and coordinates tests and prepares and maintains operational logs.
· Records test results and updates patient records for referring physicians.
· Maintains and calibrates equipment, and orders necessary supplies.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate's degree or graduation from a school of Radiologic Technology is required.
Experience:
Five (5) years of diagnostic ultrasound experience is required.
Preferred:
US guided procedures, body, small parts, Gyn, Vascular e.g., Carotids, DVTs, and Renal Arteries
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
Registration with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is required.
Current licensed in Medical Radiological Technology by the Texas State Department of Health or the Texas Medical Board.
Construction is underway on UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway, a five-story, over 100,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center. The center is slated to open February 2024 and will offer primary care, multiple specialists and in-house pathology and radiology facilities.
UT Health San Antonio and The University of Texas at San Antonio are collaborating to establish a new UT School of Public Health, which plans to begin accepting students in 2024. The research-intensive, community-centric school will focus on improved health outcomes and reduced disease complications and mortality in South Texas.
