Ultrasound Technologist
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School.
- ARDMS Certification required.
- Must be CPR certified.
- Minimum three years experience in a hospital setting performing the following preferred: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Thyroid, Vascular, Pediatric, Biopsies and Interventional Procedures.
- Great working professionally and cooperatively with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff members.
- Possess a pleasant bedside manner
Weekends overnight hours, Saturday and Sunday
Job Specific Requirements
• Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
• Ensure proper work flow is being maintained.
• Maintain positive relationship between Radiologist and sonographers.
• Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in the day to day operation.
• Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner).
• Initiate service calls and documents.
• Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques.

• Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his or her assigned unit, i.e. Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Assesses data reflective of each patient’s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient’s age requirements relative to his or her age specific health care needs.
• Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies.
• Assists supervisor with review of co-workers sonograms to ensure that they are following departmental policy. Provide a list of positives and negatives of the sonogram for educational purposes.
