- Break: 30-minute break included

Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Labor and Delivery department (WCH L&D) is responsible for performing sonography services according to hospital standards and federal, state, and local regulations. This role is critical in providing quality care to patients in the obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) setting. The Ultrasound Technologist will work with patients to obtain accurate images, ensuring patient comfort and safety while providing essential support to the medical team for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Sonography Services:
- Perform ultrasound imaging in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Utilize sonography equipment for obstetric and gynecologic examinations and procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, including proper positioning.
Patient Care:
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and address any concerns.
- Provide compassionate and professional care to patients.
Imaging and Documentation:
- Obtain high-quality images and document findings accurately for diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper storage and handling of images.
Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety and quality protocols, including infection control.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and operate sonography equipment according to manufacturer's guidelines.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly and request maintenance as needed.
Required Credentials:
Certification and Licensing:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) (required).
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasonography (required).
Other Requirements:
- 1 year minimum experience in OB/GYN sonography (required).

- Annual Physical Exam
- Background Check
- Color Blindness Testing
- Confidentiality Agreement
- COVID Immunization/Deferral/Waiver
- Drug Screen (no expiration)
- Education Verification (Diploma/Transcript)
- Immunizations (Flu Shot, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, etc.) or Declinations as required.
