Job Title: UI/UX Design Strategist / Web Designer

Location: 333 S. Beaudry Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90017

Onsite/Remote/Hybrid: Onsite

Duration: 6 months

Contract/Perm: Contract / Fulltime

Additional Information:

Project Scope:

The District seeks a firm that will perform the required work closely with LAUSD project team members and perform below responsibilities:

• Serve as Design Strategist to District's One Enrollment project and develop design strategy for application development.
• Manage and develop design prototypes using interactive wireframes (low to mid fidelity) with emerging designs aligned with digital innovation, resolving complex business workflow, using District's design mission.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and vendors to effectively promote innovative design and user experience.
• Prepare detailed documentation on all aspects of the integrated enterprise design strategy.
• Provides support to One Enrollment project's development team.
• Collaborate and maintain effective relationships with District staff and system development teams as needed.
• Consults with vendors, contractors, project team, software development team, and consultants relative to the establishment of and adherence to industry best practices and technical standards.
• Transfer knowledge to LAUSD Personnel.

Mandatory Skills:

1. 5 years of relevant work experience in strategizing and managing UI/UX projects, implementing design and enhanced user experience on web applications through design process: ability to take and incorporate feedback into design iterations, prototype development, and modification with the understanding of design principles, usability, and user-centered design.
2. 5 years of proficiency and understanding of design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar. Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping. Ability to implement new design trends, tools, and technologies. Familiarity with front-end development technologies and coding languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) can be a plus.

Desirable Skills:

1. 5+ years of experience in strategizing and managing UI/UX projects (preferably in the education sector)
2. 5+ years of experience in strategic design of online web applications
3. 5+ years of experience in developing and managing design process with project leads, focus groups, etc.
4. 5+ years of experience Implementation of design solutions for complex business workflows.
5. 5+ years of experience Understanding of data systems and design
6. 5+ years of experience Development of screen mock-ups and prototypes using interactive wireframes (low to mid fidelity)
