- Will train a UIC/PCT/CNA to read telemetry monitors for this position
- Education
- Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
- Experience
- Knowledge of job content and requirements as acquired by on-the-job training. Knowledge of hospital policies/procedures, practices, techniques and equipment as acquired through orientation.

- Normal hospital environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Possible exposure to cooler temperatures to ensure equipment stability. Frequent exposure to fumes and odors. Frequent sitting and reaching. Carrying up to 20lbs.

- JOB SUMMARY
- Under the supervision and/or direction of the Director of Inpatient Nursing, House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Staff Nurse, the UIC/Tele Tech is Responsible for performance of clerical and non-nursing duties, and acts as information coordinator for a nursing unit, continuously observing and interpreting ECG patterns on the oscilloscope under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Documents all pertinent information on rhythm strips and notifies Medical or Nursing staff of changes or abnormalities in patient rhythms. The position requires flexibility of scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Five Rivers Medical Center on all units.
