smartdept. is searching for a UI Designerfor a software client based in the Denver, CO area. The ideal candidate will come with 5-8 years of experience. This is a full-time, remote, ongoing contract opportunity. Compensation for this position is expected to be $30/hr - $47/hr depending on experience level and fit.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the complete end-to-end process of user-centered design from research, UX, through UI.
- Own leadership-supported user research to understand customer’s needs, advocate for them, and ensure that the final product meets user and business goals.
- Provide both highly analytical and creative ideas, and translate those ideas into concrete design and product deliverables.
- Work directly with developers, product managers, and company stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions in an agile
environment.
What You’ll Need:
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
- A portfolio that shows work you were directly responsible for designing
- Experience as a primary contributor to multiple high impact human-centered-design thinking projects
- Experience, participation in, and passion for user research (including user interviews, usability testing, etc.)
- Knowledge or ability to learn Figma as a design tool
- An active willingness to own mistakes and learn from them
- Experience working with developers from hand-off through production
