*** is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Brief Job Description: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of assigned patients. Consult and collaborate with physicians to recommend a change in therapy based on your evaluation of the patient. Educate patients and families about lung disease so they can maximize their recovery. Analyze breath, tissue, and blood specimens to determine levels of oxygen and other gases. Responsible for administering medical gases, humidification and aerosols, aerosol medications, bronchopulmonary hygiene, perform pulmonary function testing, and collect specimens of blood and other materials. Provide support services for patients who cannot breathe normally on their own, mechanically ventilated patients, by managing ventilators, and artificial airway devices. Respond to codes or other urgent calls for care including cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Obtain, assemble, calibrate, and check necessary equipment. Identify lung and breathing disorders and recommend treatment methods by interviewing patients and doing chest physical exams to determine what kind of therapy is best for their condition. Will be in treating COVID patients.
Requirements:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the state of Texas
TMB required
NBRC credential
CCU, ER, & NICU experience is required.
