This role will have high degree of autonomy and will be responsible for setting up the TVC production area and ensuring the investment in the area is fully used to meet productivity and capacity targets.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of hourly technicians
- Implement strategies to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery/Productivity, and Cost
- Drive and implement growth strategies for cell
- Direct process/product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization
- Ensure communication of key business/customer issues to leadership, staff and employees
- Select, hire, train, develop and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel
- Ensure hourly team is being provided the training and resources to advance their skills
- Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time
- Interface with internal and external customers to ensure their requirements are met
- Responsible for EHS, Quality Framework leadership
- Lead and drive lean execution and process excellence
- Drive wing-to-wing lead time reduction to increase TVC capacity
- Manage scope of work, schedule, budget, and resources to achieve on-time delivery and target gross margin
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline OR a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing, lean or operations environments, OR in an equivalent management role in similar industry
- Skilled with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical experience in Gas Turbine / Steam Turbine / Generator Services.
- Knowledge of Lean and/or alternative continuous improvement methods.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty gas turbine buckets, Combustion, Nozzle, Rotor repair methods and processes.
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine repair processes & equipment.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills, and leadership capability.
- Ability to work across organizational lines.
- Willing to accept challenging assignments, passion to drive change.
- Able to motivate and lead others through continuous improvement actions.
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong team player
