Tutor - High School English

Job Summary:
Tutor Doctor - North County San Diego is seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a part-time in-person Tutor for High School English. In this role, you will work one-on-one with High School students to improve their English language skills and empower them to achieve academic success. As an individual contributor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students in the North County San Diego area.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly education job with a compensation rate of $23 to $30 per hour, paid biweekly. You will work at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, on campus, 1:1 with your client. You will be provided with all necessary resources and training to effectively tutor students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with High School students in English language skills.
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on the student's specific needs, goals, and learning style.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and improve their language skills.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and their parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with the Tutor Doctor team to ensure students are receiving the support and resources they need.
- Stay up-to-date with current High School English curriculum and teaching techniques.
Preferred (not required):
- Bachelor's degree or in 3rd year toward a degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience, specifically in High School English.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of High School English curriculum and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting students' academic growth and experience working with students with learning disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
