Continuing Position
2023-24 School Year

Hours/day: 2 hrs/day; Schedule: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Pay Rate: $24.67-$30.18

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. CPR/First Aid certificate, AA degree or a minimum of three years' job related experience with increasing responsibility preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Assists in one or more of a variety of secondary school clerical or district office support environments.  Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, front office operations, secretarial support, reception activities, preparation of documents for school communications, student attendance reporting at the secondary level, college/career readiness support and department support.  Essential functions may vary at the elementary, middle, high and district levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greets visitors, staff and students and provides direction, guidance and assistance
  • Assists in distribution of documents for the purpose of communicating information
  • Prepares and distributes written materials for the purpose of conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures
  • Effectively operates within the school database system, including data gathering and sorting
  • May schedule and attend meetings, prepare agendas and create minutes
  • Directs, supervises and manages students as needed
  • May meet with new families/students to determine student educational needs
  • At the Elementary School level, may be responsible for the following functions: tracking and maintaining student attendance records, managing discipline data entry (tracking and reporting) and assisting in collecting and reconciling local school funds including Elementary School ASB budget
  • May provide specialized knowledge, experience and technical assistance in a given field of department
  • May assist with preparation and maintenance of required student records including, but not limited to, registration of new students, transcripts, enrollment, withdrawal, inter-zone and inter-district transfers, student information, schedule changes, free and reduced lunch, truancy, disciplinary, grade changes, emergency information, immunizations, etc.
  • Enters and updates computer records
  • Monitors Medicaid Match reporting
  • May maintain school website, reader-board and other school communications
  • May manage student food service activity and accounts
  • Maintains calendars and schedules for administrator(s) and building; may manage facility use
  • May maintain volunteer records
  • Processes student records requests in compliance with FERPA
  • Processes interpreter requests
  • Assists in processing inter-district and inter-zone transfer requests for Special Services
  • Fulfills responsibilities of an OP III or OP IV in their absence
  • May assist specialized staff by providing support services, including budget
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with community members, staff and students
  • Places and receives telephone calls and records messages and routes calls to appropriate staff members
  • Maintains day to day office operations and orders supplies as needed
  • Skillfully operates and maintains office equipment
  • Assists staff in the use of office equipment and appropriate office and administrative procedures
  • May administer first aid and medication to students for the purpose of meeting their immediate health care needs as needed
  • Performs any other building generated duties as necessary
