Overview:
St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Tumor Registrar Apprentice to join our team.
Must be located in Idaho or Oregon.
Unit/Position Summary
The Tumor Registrar Apprentice is a training position that trains the incumbent to work as a Certified Tumor Registrar and takes the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) exam.
Responsibilities:- Learns all aspects of Registry operations and data collection to meet eligibility requirements to sit for CTR certification exam, per self-study and mentoring from department CTR’s.
- Learns processes and rationale for case finding, abstracting oncology cases and follow-up procedures to update cases.
- Learns processes and rational for quality assurance practices for quality control of abstracted data.
- Accepts responsibility for an ’alpha letter group’ for case finding, abstracting and follow-up of those patient names.
- Develops good understanding of all aspects of day-to-day operation of Registry, including Registry responsibility for several applicable standards supporting Commission on Cancer, cancer program accreditation.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Associates degree in health related field or 2 years additional experience in lieu of degree.
