TUG BOAT CAPTAIN / OPERATOR
IMMEDIATE HIRE FOR A QUALIFIED TUG BOAT CAPTAIN
Bridge Construction Project located on Lake Ray Hubbard.
Must be able to successfully operate a 600 HP (minimum) push boat, maneuver the company owned barge carrying heavy equipment, materials, supplies and personnel around the project safely in open waters.
Must have experience pushing a 80'x120' barge short distances forward, backwards and side ways.
Physical and Technical Requirements.
3/5 years tugboat experience operating a 600 plus HP push boat (tugboat)
The captain is responsible and accountable for the safety of all personnel, materials, heavy equipment and supplies being transferred.
Must have experience pushing a 80x120 barge short distances.
Proficient in navigating, handling and maneuvering of the tug boat in and around structures, navigate the tug forward, backwards and side ways in waterways during its operations.
Responsible for the proper maintenance of the tug boat including the physical condition, and appearance.
Know how to operate and repair mechanical and electrical devices.
Ability to work safely on and around the water.
Ability to swim.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time, stand, squat use ladder and lift 50 pounds.
Basic tugboat handling and skills.
Must be able to communicate with co-workers in a mature, professional manner.
Pay is based on experience.
NO PER DIEM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 65 per week
