We are hiring a Trucking Lead, based in our Lone Tree Colorado office to support the Procurement Shared Services Department in the management of transportation, customs, logistics procedures and initiatives. The Trucking Lead's primary responsibility is to assure that materials and plant equipment are transported safely, in compliance with DOT regulations, arrive in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and always follow Kiewit's policies and best practices. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing Kiewit's Over the Road (OTR) logistics transportation-related activities. The Trucking Lead will be keeping track of transportation operations and ensuring that all policies, procedures, and safety rules are followed.
We are looking for an individual with exceptional leadership skills, and a best practice approach in the operation, continuous improvement experience, and always support the development of team members. Ultimately, the Trucking Lead should be able to display extensive knowledge of transportation management and have excellent data analytical skills as well as drive extensive KPI's. Individuals with experience in a construction related Trucking Operations role is desired. We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, goals, objectives, and highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time.

This position will be based out of our Lone Tree, Colorado office with occasional travel.
Primary function is to oversee the door-to-door Trucking Operations of our construction projects, incidental shipments, and manage the transportation of Kiewit's Equipment fleet. Scope will include management of non-permittable loads, permittable loads, and support of cross border transactions.
Lead a small team, and will ensure they all comply and follow company policies, process, and drive consistency into the Logistics Trade Compliance Group.
Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier and customers in a timely manner.
Prepare or review all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.) as specified by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Manage Transportation Management System's operation from A-Z.
Communicate standard logistics metrics and reports weekly to the KSN LTC Trucking Division Manager. Communicate and reinforce logistics plans.
Oversee cross border shipping / receiving process, carriers, custom brokers, to ensure proper documentation is completed to meet all compliance regulations.
Maintain clear communication & close co-operation with the Project, Procurement, & major stakeholders.
Work with Carriers and Customers to proactively avoid & resolve quality & service issues relating to Over the Road (OTR) transportation.
Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods shipped, cost, transit times, or security needs when necessary. Update and maintain the approved vendors list.
Consolidate loads with common destination to reduce costs.
Calculate weight, volume, or costs of goods to be moved.
Complete shipment documentation.
Ensure all processes, procedures, and standards are following internal ISO controls.
Review and approve methods statements, lifting and transportation plans for critical and sensitive cargos and verify adherence of documentation to customs, insurance, or regulatory requirements.
Lead the effort with Trade Compliance Team to facilitate the passage of goods through customs.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations or other factors that could affect freight shipping.
This position may require some travel.
A four-year college or university degree in related major plus eight years' experience in a related construction field (at least four of these years in a materials transportation, logistics or expediting management position); or an associate degree in related major plus ten years' experience in a related construction field (at least four of these years in a materials transportation, logistics or expediting management position); or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) plus twelve years' experience in a related construction field (at least six of these years in a materials transportation, logistics or expediting management position) is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Must have a broad working knowledge of all principles and methods for moving materials by over the road including relative costs and benefits.

Base Compensation: $81,927 - $102,409
