Job Description
Position Objective:
The prime function of the Truck Mechanic is to carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of light and heavy-duty diesel and gas vehicles, small engine repair, small trucks and industrial lifts.
Responsibilities:
Ø Service equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition before leaving property or at jobsite if required
Ø Maintenance and repair of trucks (diesel and gas)
Ø Diagnostic testing for trucks
Ø Operate and troubleshoot issues
Ø Perform safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Ø Power assisted brake systems, oil changes, vehicle suspension systems mechanical and hydraulic steering systems
Ø Wheel vehicle crane/hoist/winch assemblies
Ø Testing lead acid batteries for serviceability
Ø Lifting 50-100lbs, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and working overhead (in both standing and laying position)
Requirements:
Ø High School diploma or GED
Ø Some trade school preferred
Ø Minimum 2 years relevant experience
Computer skills to be able to use diagnostic tools
Ø Own and possess ability to safely and effectively use mechanic’s tools
Ø CDL - A preferred but not required
Ø Professional attitude and appearance
Ø Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
Ø Good written and verbal communication skills
Ø Ability to prioritize work assignments
Ø Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems including (but not limited to) mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
Ø Exhibit personal and professional integrity
Ø Must exhibit a high level of safety awareness
