JOB SUMMARY
The Truck Driver position involves the safe and efficient operation of one or more of the following: a dump truck and pup, transfer truck and trailer, Super Solo, Dump truck and equipment trailer or Water Truck for the purposes of transporting materials and equipment to and from jobsites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving the truck to and from the job site for the delivery of equipment and/or materials
Receiving materials from the Asphalt plant, pit, or vendor
Loading, securing, and unloading equipment onto, and from, equipment trailers in the yard and at the jobsite
Transfer of HMA from the truck into the Paver or MTV hopper, coordinating with Paver or MTV Operator
Spread gravel in a uniform manner to a desired depth
Keep truck and trailer box clean and free of buildup
Performs fluid level checks and walk around inspection of the equipment assigned.
Completes daily inspection reports
Practices pride in ownership towards vehicles, equipment, and worksite conditions
Upholds the ideals of the Lakeside mission statement
Other duties as assigned as a part of a team

This position has no supervisory responsibilities unless otherwise assigned
WORK ENVIORNMENT
This position operates seated in the cab of a truck for extended periods of time, with repeated ingress and egress from the vehicle, driving on public roads and on jobsites that can have varying traffic and weather conditions, and heavy equipment present.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
- Able work in variable weather conditions
- The employee must be able to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, reach with hand & arms above shoulders
- Ability to lift, up to, 100 lbs.
- Able to work long hours, weekends, and night shifts.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a seasonal position with hours that can vary. Long days, weekends and night shifts are to be expected.
TRAVEL
Travel is to be expected daily to job sites throughout the region in which they are employed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Current Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
Current Federal DOT Medical Certificate
Membership in the Teamsters local for the region employed
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a random screening program
Good physical health
Good driving record (MVR required upon employment)
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE
High School Diploma or GED
1-3 years of experience driving heavy haulage in the construction industry
