Position: Agricultural Truck Driver
Overview:
- A farm Truck Driver is responsible for transporting agricultural commodities and other farm-related goods from one location to another.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading agricultural products, such as grain, hay, rock, sand, etc. using appropriate equipment.
- Inspecting the truck and ensuring it is in good working condition before driving.
- Transporting goods to various locations, including farms, elevators, and processing plants.
- Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, including weight limits, parking restrictions, and driving hours.
- Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck.
- Managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
- Communicating with farm managers, customers, and other drivers using two-way radios, mobile phones, or other communication devices.
- Reporting any accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the appropriate managers and mechanics.
Are You Qualified?
- Farm Truck Drivers must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and a clean driving record. They should also have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and have strong problem-solving skills. In addition, they should be able to work flexible hours and be willing to travel long distances. Experience in agriculture and knowledge of farm equipment may also be required.
