Bailey sold its first forklift in 1949. Since then, Bailey has been a family-owned and operated business dedicated to selling, leasing, renting, servicing, and providing parts for forklift trucks throughout the southeast.
The Truck Driver will operate a heavy-duty truck and/or rollback truck to deliver and retrieve material handling equipment in a safe and conscientious manner. Truck drivers should regularly inspect their truck for mechanical or safety issues, ensuring issues are identified and reported in a timely manner. The Truck Driver is tasked with safely loading and unloading equipment for transport and delivery. Loading should include securing any equipment with chains, straps, or other tie-down methods. The Truck Driver will communicate with dispatch on a regular basis to ensure daily truck run obligations are met. The Truck Driver should provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
Job Description:
- Operate a heavy-duty or rollback truck to transport material handling equipment to and from job sites.
- Perform weekly inspections of truck and any equipment to ensure mechanical and safety issues are quickly identified and remedied.
- Secure all loads safely with chains, straps, or other tie-down methods while ensuring unused tie downs are safely secured before transport.
- Safely load and unload equipment.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate mileage and fuel consumption logs.
- Timely communicate with dispatch to receive instructions and update status of deliveries to ensure daily truck run obligations are met.
- Report any accidents or incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of the truck and trailer where needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:
- Experience hauling heavy equipment, knowledge of tilt beds, ground loading, etc.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, dispatchers, and customers.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading trucks with or without an accommodation.
- Reliable, safe work habits.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision in the field.
License(s) or Certification(s) Required:
- Must have a valid Tennessee CDL driver’s license with a Class A endorsement.
