Job Description
This position has a focus on working with Low-Income, First generation, or a person who meets the classification of having a disability as a SSS Grant. This position will provide eligible students in SSS with academic advising, support functions and mentoring services that are outlined in the SSS Grant.

Job Description
This position has a focus on working with Low-Income, First generation, or a person who meets the classification of having a disability as a SSS Grant. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, sociology, psychology, child development or related field.
- One year experience in education, counseling or related field and working with at-risk student populations (low income, first generation, disabled)
- Knowledge of the barriers facing low income, first generation and disabled college students.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff, faculty, and students both in written and oral form.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are needed for working with faculty, staff, and students.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Problem solving skills are required for assessing students and making recommendations based upon assessment.
- Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in/with TRIO programs.
- Computer skills related to the creation of spreadsheets, communication with students and fellow employees, presentation and power point programs, and student information systems such as ISRS, Student Access (program for our TRIO program).
