Overview of the Role

The Bar & Restaurant Manager will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused to ensure excellent guest services from arrival to the completion of the guest experience. The Bar & Restaurant Manager will be active in, but not limited to staff training, front of house systems and service, consistency in processes, assisting in organizing special events in the hotel and with developing cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures.

What You Have

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working as a bartender and at least 2 years as a manager in an upscale establishment, previous hotel experience is preferred.
  •  Tips Certification, Food Safety Certification.
  • An unparalleled commitment to hospitality and customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • •Ability to interact patiently, tactfully, and diplomatically with internal and external guests. •
  •  Must be detailed oriented, customer service oriented and organized. • MS Office, Micros POS, Open Table knowledge preferred.
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of classic cocktails and all spirits, wine, and beer categories.
  •  Exceptional knowledge of classic and world cuisines with ability to develop cocktails that complement the food menu.
  •  Ability to train staff and develop the Bar and service teams.
  • Must be able to stand for periods of time.
  •  Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have open schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Do

  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior guest service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs.
  •  Manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring quality service standards are met and the guest experience is exceptional.  
  • Ensure standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained daily.
  •  Leads by example in a positive environment, utmost professionalism and adheres to company policies provided in the employee handbook.  
  • Ensure compliance with all F&B policies and procedures by training, supervision, hands on approach, and follow- up.
  •  Ensure team members are aware and certified in all applicable laws regarding alcoholic beverages.
  •  Respond to emergency situations using information contained in Safety Data Sheets; keep SDSs current &easily available.  
  • Working with banquet team to ensure service is of high quality.
  • • On the floor contact for bars, restaurant, and banquets operations.
  •  Conduct and/or attend pre-shift staff, managerial and departmental meetings.
  •  Responsible for accurate staff sales and tip reporting and distribution and assist with payroll.  
  • Maintains accuracy and accountability for all guest checks and cash transactions.  
  • Able to supervise a shift and the team members and ensure beverage, food and service standards are upheld.
  •  Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all state liquor laws.
  • Overseeing Bar and Restaurant operations procedures, opening, closing, daily and weekly side work.  
  • Assists in the training of all Food and Beverage associates on beverage and food menus and services.
  •  Assists management in training all associates according to company policy.
  • Maintains effective cocktail portion control using established pouring methods.
  •  Ensures all beverage supplies are maintained and complete.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of inventory of beer, liquor and wine.
  • Work with management to assist in overseeing the spirits and beer program.  
  • Assist with developing specialty cocktails, create, and maintain pars for syrups and mixers.
  • Open and close bar & restaurant and complete operations tasks efficiently, accurately and with a keen eye for detail.
  •  Assists in providing input for proper ordering of inventory, counting end of month inventory after the shift of the last day of the month.
  • Conduct monthly beverage physical inventory and review, including invoice accuracy, pricing structures, POS programming, cost controls, par levels maintained, appropriate ordering and transfers.
  • Assist in creating beverage and food activations to include special tastings, events, and education.
  • Participate conducting beverage pairings and cocktail demo in our Culinary Theatre.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned by manager
