SalaryJob Purpose or Objective(s): As A Tribal Patrolman, you will enforce all Tribal, State and Federal laws and rules to provide protection for individuals and property. You will report to Tribal Law Enforcement Management.
Pay Rate: $25.69 per hour | Hourly, Full Time | Schedule and Hours: 4 days will be 8:00am to 4:00pm and 1 work day will be 4:00pm to 12:00am with Tuesday and Wednesday OFF | Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position. | The selected candidate will need to live or be able to move within Atoka County. |
Primary Tasks:
- You will conduct patrols of the assigned area(s).
- Investigate and write reports of motor vehicle collisions and criminal offenses.
- Prepare arrest cases and testify in court as a witness when called.
- Locate and take persons into custody on warrants, transport prisoners.
- You will escort funeral processes, parades, officials, and oversized vehicles.
- Attend department meetings, training courses, and conferences.
- Collaborate with other Police Departments to provide comprehensive services to the citizens of the Choctaw Nation.
- Observe unsafe conditions on the street such as obstructions, debris, icy bridges, high water, damage to pavement, inadequate or damaged traffic control devices and take appropriate action to correct them.
- Inform supervisor concerning matters of significance in their area(s) of patrol. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must Complete of the Law Enforcement Academy
- Pass a physical fitness test
- Have a valid driver's license
- Use law enforcement communication, law enforcement software, and equipment
- Must qualify yearly with department firearms
- Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make logical decisions.
- Work outside normal hours and exposed to the elements
- No prior experience required
