Form of workYellowstone Landscape’s Tree Care Division is now hiring an experienced Director of Tree Care for our Chicagoland Region. The Director of Tree Care oversees the strategic goals, profitability, sales and operations of Tree Care Department. Assuring profitable growth through working with the Business Development Managers on new sales as well as working with Account Managers on existing maintenance portfolios. Works with Tree Care Managers in overseeing operational efficiencies, safety and delivery of high-quality general tree work and plant health care services within the assigned markets.

Key Responsibilities- Drive 5 key Yellowstone priorities.
- Inspect and assess tree health and damage using specialized equipment, then develop recommendations.
- Create and update tree inventories and annual Plant Health Care Programs for clients; maintain records and reports.
- Manage the application process for city, environmental, safety, and/or right of way permits.
- Work alongside other Managers in meeting with clients proactively and regularly.
- Prepare estimates and propose Tree work to clients and potential customers to achieve or exceed Tree Care sales goals.
- Understand contracts and execute operational plans per scope of work. Negotiate renewals and increases with customers.
- Use proactive communication of all operational plans, schedule changes, and site-specific needs through regular meetings.
- Attend site walks and meetings and provide timely responses to customers’ needs to develop a strong relationship with the primary contact to best meet their service expectations and needs.
- Ensure crews follow Yellowstone policies and procedures through constant monitoring, interaction, and coaching. Drive branch level safety culture that results in hitting safety targets.
- Evaluate and develop Tree Care professionals to ensure proficiency in their current role and to prepare employees for advancement.
- Create a work environment where employees feel respected and valued.
- Ability to identify plant material, soil types, trees, insect and disease issues.
- Learn and understand all Yellowstone policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Work closely with Branch Managers and their teams
- Strong computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Office, Qlik, UKG Pro, Team Engine
- Exceptional communication and client-service skills, with a keen sense of ownership of responsibilities.

- Bachelor’s degree, in plant science preferably in Arboriculture or equivalent work experience
- 8-10 years relevant work experience managing a team with P&L ownership.
- Experience managing crews that perform Tree Care and plant health care
- Arborist certification with The International Society of Arboriculture
- Local/State Landscape Industry Certification(s), state specific.
- Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP)
- Hold valid driver’s license, pass, and maintain Samba requirements.
- Valid Pesticide License and/or Spray ID Card, state specific.
- Minimum OSHA 10, OSHA 30, preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certification, preferred.
