Essential Duties or Responsibilities:
Major Duties or Responsibilities:
A. Management of Treatment Services 60%
Directs the provision of patient assessment, clinic schedules, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning services.
Ensures individual patient assessments are completed per policy and utilized in the treatment planning process.
Develops, implements, and audits active treatment programs in collaboration with the Clinical Services Director and other clinical managers.
Develops, implements, and provides regulatory audits per licensing and policy standards for treatment plans.
Collaborates directly with the Unit Psychiatrist and Nurse Managers to review, discuss, and coordinate patient care.
Establishes, monitors, and evaluates, active treatment, social assessments, and treatment planning.
Completes appropriate follow up measures related to deficient outcomes of auditing active treatment, social assessments, and treatment planning.
Assists in completion of treatment plans.
In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Clinical Services, assigns treatment tasks/responsibilities to appropriate staff members, monitors, and evaluates the completion of assigned treatment tasks/responsibilities.
B. Management of Treatment Team Responsibilities 30%
Consult and collaborates with treatment team on progress or problems of individual patients.
Serves as spokesperson for unit specific treatment information regarding the hospital, treatment program tours, and general assistance to patient's family/visitors, and other authorized visitors.
Trains staff on policy and procedures, develops clinical schedules, participates in recruitment and selection processes, and engages in corrective action processes.
Promotes professional development and meet standards of licensure and accreditation.
C. Other Duties as Assigned 10%
Maintains active role within the hospital senior leadership team.
Provides support to the Hospital Administrator/Chief Operations Officer.
Performs tasks related to executive-level hospital projects and other tasks as directed.
Represents the senior leadership group externally in all matters related to Clinical Services.
Physical and Environmental Demands: Clinical, Medical, and Nursing Services positions primarily work on treatment units and in a clinic setting. These positions are involved in the treatment of persons who pose unpredictable and physically aggressive behavior requiring staff intervention and possible risk of injury to staff. Employees in these positions may be expected to assist with patient crisis interventions. These positions may also be involved in the evaluation and treatment of persons with histories of serious criminal acts. Training in, and utilization of, hospital approved intervention techniques is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Strong working knowledge of clinical methods and best practices.
- Understanding of individual and team approaches of treatment and therapy for mental health disorders.
- Extensive knowledge of professional, ethical, and evidence-based standards of practice for healthcare professionals in different disciplines and for operation of a healthcare facility.
- Effectively utilize knowledge and skills and apply them to practical assessment and treatment modalities for patients.
- Ability to compose and provide information in the form of reports and complete clinical documentation.
- Ability to model effective communication, verbally and in writing.
- Effective interviewing and information gathering techniques.
- Ability to analyze, assemble, and organize information.
- Excellent time management skill and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computer programs.
Supervision
- The number of employees supervised is: 4-6 based on assigned unit.

Minimum qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Rehabilitation Therapy, or closely related healthcare field required.
- Recent relevant (within 5 years) experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
- 2 years' manager/supervisory experience required.
- Certification or licensure appropriate to the individual's clinical background preferred.
- 2 years' experience working with SDMI adults preferred.
