This position is responsible for assisting the Fixed Income Division (FID) with the management of the fixed income portfolios of the multi-billion dollar State of Michigan Retirement System (SMRS) pension fund.  Management of such funds include making recommendations to buy, hold or sell securities based upon advanced investment research consisting of identifying qualitatively (via meetings, conference calls, reading, macro/micro research) and quantitatively (via financial modeling, pre and post trade investment analysis) the drivers of risk and return, past investment experience, assessment of the U.S. and world economic outlook, the technical bond market outlook, individual portfolio requirements and credit analysis.  This position provides opinion and responds to questions to support recommendations to underwrite assigned investments and portfolio performance in conjunction with the FID Senior Investment Manager.  This position prepares regular reports as assigned and conducts miscellaneous investment-related projects as required by the FID Senior Investment Manager or Bureau Management.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics or real estate management/financing.
Experience

Note:  Experience is considered professional if the job requires a bachelor's degree.

Treasury Investment Analyst 11
Two years of professional experience providing professional investment services equivalent to a Treasury Investment Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Treasury Investment Analyst 10.
