POSITION SUMMARY
August Construction Solutions, Inc., an award-winning, general contracting firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the team as a Superintendent. This individual is responsible for the management and coordination of the day-to-day operations and activities at the job site including safety, schedule, quality assurance, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and adherence to State and Federal OSHA requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

- Direct, schedule and coordinate subcontractor work.
- Prepare and maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule for all activities on the job site; submit to Project Manager weekly.
- Ensure project conformance with all safety standards, building codes, plans, specifications, and construction best practices.
- Determine work priorities and coordinate activities with all necessary parties to ensure the project is constructed safely, efficiently, on schedule and with quality.
- Hold all subcontractors accountable for adherence to the project plans, specifications, required standards and quality.
- Conduct pre-installation meetings to review installation requirements and procedures for all major elements of the work and command a thorough understanding of the requirements for the installation of all materials to be used.
- Provide and promote a safe work environment by creating a culture of safety for the project and hold everyone on the job site accountable for safe behavior.
- Facilitate company safety program to ensure the company’s safety policies and requirements are adhered to by all site personnel.
- Maintain detailed documentation of daily job site activities, conditions and project photos of all phases and features of work and provide to Project Manager and Home Office as required.
- Oversee quality control by confirming that all equipment and material installed is what was submitted by subcontractor.
- Manage and coordinate the execution and completion of all project inspections, permits and signoffs as outlined per the contract documents and local ordinances and regulations.
- Facilitate the closeout of the project to ensure the project was built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes, and that quality standards were achieved and delivered.
- Responsible for the timely completion of all punch list items.
- Obtain or ensure the pathway for obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy (CO) has been defined.
- Establish a professional and trusted relationship as the on-site team leader with subcontractors, vendors, project team and client.

The Superintendent is regularly required to:
- Read labels, safety warnings and guidelines.
- Communicate with co-workers.
- Remain alert and attentive to details to ensure safety.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial construction; as Project Manager, Construction Manager, Superintendent, or related position.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to resolve discrepancies effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and situations.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or Certificate in construction management or equivalent desired.
Must have a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet acceptability criteria for driving.
Only recipients of an Offer of Employment from August Construction Solutions, Inc. will be required to submit to a background screening which may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, driving record, criminal background check and an investigative consumer report. These screenings will be conducted by August Construction Solutions’ background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law.
