Job Description
- The Chassis Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and analyzing malfunctions, completing repairs and efficiently maintaining chassis and trailers.
Pay: $20-22/hour based on experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic.
- (Preferred but not required) Have a minimum 1 year's mechanical experience to get certified for FMCSA inspections.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Hostler (yard jockey) experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of shop equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality inspections.
- Replace suspension components and landing legs.
- Make repairs that are documented.
- Patch / Weld containers.
- Change tires.
- Perform air brake inspections and repairs.
- Supply your own tools (basic).
