Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join our talented team. • The duration is for a contractor for 13 weeks
• The anticipated start for this role is two weeks after an accepted offer
• Holiday coverage is required
• 36 hours guaranteed *48 Hour Work Week* - Quoted rate is based on a 36 hour work week

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
• Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
• Recording patient vital signs and medical information
• Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
• Administering non-intravenous medications
• Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members
• Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses
• Floating is required
• Top Diagnosis/Procedures: surgical of all types, medicals of all types, neuro patients at times
• Common Equipment: bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCD's, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, airvos
• Vasoactive Drip Titration Required - neosynephrine, amiodarone, cardizem, among a few others
• Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:03 (not guaranteed)

Required / Preferred Skills:

Line Management Skills:

• Required: IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access/Care, Dialysis Fistula Care/Management, A-Line Management
• Preferred: CVP

Cardiac Skills:

• Preferred: Obtain 12 Lead EKG, Sheath Removal, Cardioversion/Defibrillation

Airway:

• Required: CPAP/BiPAP, Trach Care

Ortho/MS/Onc:

• Required: Epidural/PCA pumps, Feeding Tubes, Wound Vac

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or master degree in nursing preferred
• 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the appropriate unit for this role
• Pass the National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX-RN
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR
• ACLS certification
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff
• Basic computer skills
• Professional, friendly attitude
