Travel Opportunity for a School Speech Language Pathologist Jobin Mundelein, IL

Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve our K-8th grade students with milder disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. The successful candidate will primarily split their time between 2 schools, making a difference in the lives of our students and contributing to their academic and social success.

Job Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: May 23, 2024
• Work Schedule: Full-time; 2 lcoations
  • 3 days at an Elementary school
  • 2 days at an Middle school
• Caseload: K-8th grade students with milder disabilities in self-contained classrooms
• Salary: Starting at $45/hr, dependent on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities:

1. Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
2. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in collaboration with other educational professionals.
3. Provide targeted speech and language therapy sessions, tailoring interventions to the needs of each student.
4. Document student progress and maintain comprehensive records.
5. Participate in IEP meetings, offering feedback and insights based on student performance.
6. Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other staff to support the communicative needs of students.
7. Stay updated on best practices and research in the field of speech therapy, incorporating new methods when appropriate.
8. Adhere to state and federal guidelines regarding speech therapy in educational settings.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
• Valid licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and staff.
