Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Assist the surgical team in preparing the Operating Room and equipment
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon or anesthesiologist
- Assist with positioning and draping the patient for surgery
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a sterile environment and prevent infection
- Document patient information, including medical history, medications, and vital signs
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working in an Operating Room setting
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
- Knowledge of workers compensation laws and regulations
- Experience in providing care for toddlers, assisted living residents, or hospice palliative medicine patients
- Strong patient care skills, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Familiarity with sonography, acute care, mammography, or other specialized areas within nursing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
