RN- Tele- Med Surg
36 hours per week
Days/Nights
Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (not needed for this floor but required for floating purposes)
Common diagnoses/Types of patients"This floor gets a little of everything in the general medicine/internal medicine population. Generally a lower acuity population- manager compares it to a regular MedSurg unit in a community hospital.
Cellulitis, abd pain, inpatient rehab/SNF transition patients waiting for insurance authorization, surgical overflow, direct admits, transplant workups, some behavioral patients, infections.
Anything that does not require tele
EOW (Weekends are Sat and Sun)- Holidays rotated with perm staff
Shifts- 7a-7p; 7p-7a- but must arrive 15 min early for shift change
Charge Experience is preferred but not required
Scrub Color- Teal
Charting System- Epic- experience preferred
Orientation- 2 days in the classroom and 2 shifts on the floor
Must be experienced with basic EKG and all units have tele and RNs must know how to interpret strips
