Job description

Performs the tasks of a journey level Electrician In the maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment and apparatus of a large hydroelectric installation, ranging voltage from 24 volts up to 230,000 volts. This includes generators, transformers, pump-turbines, motors, switches, circuit breakers, CO2 fire protection systems, alarm systems, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and all circuitry and electrical control devices associated with this equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions of electrical systems, and determines corrective action to be taken. Installs, repairs, tests, and maintains wiring circuits for electrical equipment; motors; and control devices. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles motors; generators; large transformers; power switchboards; wiring and cable installations at all voltage levels within the five field divisions in the State Water Project with the Machine Rewind Section.

We are seeking candidates with the following: good communication skills and a team player. This position is allocated to the Machine Rewind Crew and extensive travel and overtime will be required. The individual must be dependable, have the ability to follow directions, have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and have the ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with staff.
The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
