Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury Advocate
Access Alaska, Inc.

To assist persons experiencing a traumatic or Acquired Brain Injury (TABI) to live independently within the community of their choice. To assist persons in obtaining and understanding Access Alaska's core services, information & referral, peer support, independent living skills training, individual and systems advocacy, and transition. To walk side by side providing resource navigation as well as assisting persons to achieve physical, emotional, and economic independence.

Position Requirements
Education:
4-year degree in health or human services or like field.
Experience can be substituted for education 2 years' experience for every one year of education.
Preferred:
Documented TABI-related Training or continued education
Willingness to obtain a Brain Injury Certification within the first six months of employment.
Experience:
8-years of experience if substituting education.
4-years of experience with a 4-year degree in related field.
4-years of mental health related work history.
4-years Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury Experience.
Preferred:
Lived experience with a Brain Injury or a family member of an individual with a Brain Injury.

Good communication, Emotional Intelligence, Teamwork, Self-Development, Professionalism, problem solving, Adaptability, Critical thinking, Time management, Interpersonal, Empathy, Stress Management, Positive Attitude, Flexibility
Essential Hard Skills (Technical skills and expertise):
Computers, data bases, analytical, marketing, presentations, project management, communication written and verbal, Microsoft office Suite, CIL Suite database, Knowledge of Community, State, and Federal services, programs, & processes.

Hourly Rate: $$22.06 - $24.81 DOE
Full Time Non-Exempt
Benefits: Paid Time Off, 10 paid holidays, 3 days paid Bereavement, ICHRA Medical Plan, Vision, Dental, Life and AD-D insurance, Supplemental insurances available with Colonial.
