Join Scripps Memorial La Jolla Trauma Administration team as a Trauma Registrar. This role is responsible for:
- Data collection on all trauma patients and entering this information into the computerized database.
- Validates data, manages information, creates reports utilized by administration and trauma clinical practitioners for Trauma Center and regional quality management, trauma research, epidemiology, and injury prevention activities.
- Responsible for coding for ICD 9 N codes, E codes, and AAAM.
- Responsible for reviewing data for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to county and national data banks. Maintains the database, assuring timely backup and security of patient data.
- Works collaboratively with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director in identifying and trending quality issues.
- Must be able to work independently, demonstrating dedication, high productivity, and self-management in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of ICD- 9 coding, AIS, ISS, and AAAM Coding.
- Evidence of advanced computer skills: data base maintenance, word processing, spread sheets, graphics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive experience in trauma registry, database management, software expertise will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Trauma Registry course completed within twelve months.
- Trauma Registry Certification within eighteen months.
- 2 years of experience in coding, data entry, data analysis, medical record abstraction
- Previous Trauma Registry experience
- BS degree in health-related courses
