Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is accepting applications for the position of Pre-Certified Trauma Registrar. The Pre-Certified Trauma Registrar, under direction, collects, codes, maintains and reports information about trauma patients in support of the hospital's trauma registry and committee.
ARMC, a university affiliated teaching hospital owned and operated by the County of San Bernardino, is a state-of-the-art, 456-bed teaching hospital with a regional burn center. ARMC's Emergency Department is the only level II Trauma Center in San Bernardino County that is verified by the American College of Surgeons, the gold standard for trauma excellence. Trauma specialists handle approximately 2,500 traumas each year, consulting with orthopedic, neurosurgical/spinal and perinatal specialists when caring for trauma patients. Specially-trained trauma nurses (on staff 24/7) round out the trauma team. The Emergency Department (ED) team, has the skills and experience necessary to service the second-highest number of annual ED visits (more than 100,000) in California.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Promotion: Pre-Certified Trauma Registrars must promote to Certified Trauma Registrar ($52,312.00 - $71,905.60 annual salary) upon meeting the minimum requirements for that class and demonstrate successful work performance within three (3) years or be terminated.
Background: Candidate must successfully pass a background investigation.
Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.
Certifications: Must maintain necessary certifications and complete on-going educational units/certifications required for assigned areas of responsibility.
Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Must possess full-time work experience within the past five (5) years performing one of the following:
Option 1: One (1) year of full-time work experience abstracting data from patient medical records using International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 9 or 10 codes in an acute care hospital.
Option 2: Two (2) years of full-time work experience in an acute care hospital emergency department.
Option 3: Thirty (30) months of full-time work experience auditing and processing patient medical records in an acute care hospital.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates possessing an Associate's degree in Biology and/or Physiology are highly desired.
