Job description

  1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 
  2. Shall demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system by:

(a) promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking

(b) engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system requirements

(c) promoting improvement

4.  Analyze data on the trauma patient population; identify trends and performance improvement opportunities.

5.  Utilize nursing skills to collect patient care data, summarize data, and formulate reports.

6.  Records, monitors, and reports both retrospective, concurrent, and post discharge data to identify areas for improvement.

7. Participates in committee meetings, local, state, regional and national, when applicable.

8.  Works with a team to develop action plans to improve performance.

9.  Manages the data collection, monitoring, reporting of identified Performance Improvement issues and ensures action plans are implemented and loop closure is completed.

10. Coordinates the Trauma Performance Improvement Program in collaboration with the Trauma Leadership Team.

11. Attends meetings for Trauma Services and any other pertinent meetings as needed

 

Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly

 

Qualifications /Training:

  • Strong work ethic including ability to manage multiple demands, meet deadlines and work at a rapid pace.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically, problem solve and to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must be proficient in using the computer to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Work requires a high degree of initiative, judgement, and the ability to function independently.
  • Five years acute care clinical experience-surgical care and/or trauma

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

  • Valid South Carolina nursing license-Registered Nurse, BSN
  • Must have BLS
  • Must have ACLS within 6 months of hire
