The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting a Travel Demand Modeler. This position is responsible for performing Travel Demand and other analyses for the Multimodal Bureau. Position is responsible for developing methods and procedures to analyze and forecast transportation and other impacts; develop and model hypothetical growth scenarios; conduct and coordinate transportation planning studies; and critically review and evaluate MDT planning activities to ensure consistency with federal and state requirements. Responsible for developing methodologies and procedures to forecast future travel in urban areas; design, document, and implement area-wide Travel Demand models; manage geo-database to process large scale input and output data; incorporate urban planning principles and mathematical and statistical estimation techniques; research industry practice on advanced land use and Travel Demand models; provide expertise, guidance, and assistance to local government planning agencies in the development and implementation of local comprehensive transportation plans. The position reports to the Section Supervisor and does not directly supervise others. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.
