Summary
This position is responsible for leading and assisting the Perdue operations team with daily training and operation development. Responsible for ensuring that all customer service and daily operational related issues are resolved in a manner that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. This position will be required to be involved with additional transportation projects as needed
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead Perdue dispatch operations team daily to assist with routing of trucks to maximize miles and cost.
- Stand in for or train a team member in any region in the dispatch capacity.
- Monitor dispatch plans for white glove customers and run reports as needed.
- Support and assist region supervisors in mission to produce routing efficiencies.
- Extension of and support role in the reduction of downtime on backhaul assignments
- Lead Perdue customer service operations team daily to assist with appointment accuracy, reschedule systems, effective communications, and superior customer service functionalities.
- Identify inefficiencies in scheduling and carrier compliance and provide findings to region supervisors while offering additional trainings where suited.
- Manage report out for high level events such as weather, shutdowns, etc.
- Produce various customer service-related reports as needed.
- Support or train a team member in any region in the customer service capacity
- Conduct monthly trainings on supportive topics in transportation.
- Re-train associates that have identified deficiencies and need additional support.
- Train and mentor, all new hired associates
- Collaborate with region supervisors on needed development for team associates.
- Stand in as backup for region supervisors when needed
- Provide weekly reporting to regional supervisors by identifying deficiencies and provide action steps for improvement via training plan.
- Conduct quarterly assessments on all operations associates by use of scorecard to track training and knowledge progress
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Minimum Education
High school graduate
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in transportation and a strong knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Preferred
College degree in a related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education
