Description
Summary
The Transportation & Logistics Sales Representative position will primarily sell and coordinate Transloading of various Cargoes from our network of warehousing and marine terminals to clients and final destinations across the United States. The job will require you to maintain strong Customer relationships. You will also need to work closely with internal operational teams to relay pertinent information about freight movements and scheduling. Finally, this role will serve as backup to Dispatch/Freight brokering activities.
Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee all RFP/RFQ pricing with consideration to timely submissions to customer.
• Negotiate rates and makes final decisions for all Transloading shipments.
• Oversee new sales performance and assist with improvement opportunities.
• Lead the Implementation of our new WMS software.
• Answer numerous and various phone calls from customers and new prospects.
• Create transloading Invoices and work with Internal and External Accounting departments for processing.
• Manage purchase and delivery orders from customers, considering cargo details and customer needs.
• Coordinate with Warehouse Operations Manager on operational constraints to ensure smooth operational flow.
• Determine if special needs/requests are present (OOG, special blocking/bracing, weights and dimensions of cargo).
• Primary customer contact for pickup and delivery appointments into the Warehouse. Work in conjunction with operational staff.
• Coordinate shipment with customer, shippers and consignees with updating WMS through entire process.
• Regularly makes check calls to verify location of carrier while on route to/from warehouse.
• Problem-solve throughout entire transloading process.
• Notify customer of any issues in timely manner, and provide resolution to any problems incurred.
• Working with outside sales department in identifying potential new customers and looking for quote opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and senior management to devise strategic approaches to developing new viable business segments to grow capacity within freight forwarding market.

Educationand/orWorkExperience

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible, and related logistics experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is a plus.
• Freight forwarding operations experience & knowledge of freight industry, including FMCSA regulations, DOT Rules, and mandates.
• Demonstrated sales skills with prior operational experience desirable.
• Knowledge of, adherence to, anti-discrimination, anti-harassment and anti-retaliation laws, practices and procedures required (training will be provided).
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, transportation management systems (TMS), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Internet Loadboards (ex: Internet Truckstop, DAT are a plus).
• Valid state driver's license.

Salary Description
60K to 80K
