From your PASSION to ours
The Transportation Flows Planner establishes the overall transportation flow strategy for Lactalis USA including systems design and routing optimization. This position involves working with many departments within the company, such as customer service, warehousing, sales forecasting and, above all, the transport operations team.
The role of this position will be to standardize and automate the best possible transportation schedule to meet customer and warehouse constraints while meeting budgeted expense. Additionally, the Transportation Flows Planner will manage forecasted changes in volume, and holiday calendars to ensure our TMS aligns with business operations.
This position works closely with our transportation systems analyst to understand the connections between our tools and the parameters required in each of them, so as not to disrupt operational staff, and to document all our actions.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
• Create and test default transportation plans in our Ortec TMS in the pre-production environment. Understand the rules and impacts of new plan parameters within the TMS.
• Once tested, implement and execute production transportation plans.
• Analyze flows to develop continuous improvement to transportation plans, including combining plans where needed.
• Implement KPIs to follow the improvement of transportation plans over time, including end user adoption rates of the plan.
• Manage all planning parameters set up in the TMS. This includes carrier rates and transit time management.
• Work with outside groups (supply planning, customer service, plants, warehouses) to develop forecasts for needed volume to incorporate in transportation plans.
• Meet with outside stakeholders (customer service, supply planning) to review KPIs and evaluate performance.
• Continuously drive improvements in TMS performance, settings, and operational KPIs.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding plan settings and evaluation.
• Support modeling of new business flows and changes to existing flows.
• Travel is required and extended/off work hours are expected.

Education
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required;
• Masters degree or higher preferred; or equivalent experience to include a minimum of five (5) years job related experience
Experience
• 5+ years related experience required
• Experience in Transportation is required
• Experience in Food Industry preferred
Specialized Knowledge
• Transportation Management Systems is required
Skills / Abilities
• Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Microsoft Access is a plus
Salary Description
$60,000 - $65,000 annual
