We are looking for a Transportation Analyst to help us tender railing loads for the Virginia Railing Warehouse and Fernley Railing Warehouse and provide centralized support for tendering activities. As a Trex Transportation Analyst, you will be looked to as an innovator and responsible for requesting rates (published rates and spot rates) directly with carriers, vetting new carriers, and onboarding new carriers. This role is a key member of our Distribution & Transportation team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and tender Railing shipments using the Railing Routing Guide.
- Work with the Railing Warehouse and Freight Analyst teams to understand any unique challenges to shipments, such as over-dimensional SKU’s.
- Maintain daily spreadsheets of loads shipped per location which will include PO number, carrier, pallet count, consignee and delivery location.
- Build spreadsheet with point-of-contacts for both LTL and TL Trex carriers for each Railing Plant.
- Maintain a Spot Quotes File and awards for any loads that are not on the routing guide.
- Work with Freight Analyst on using KPI’s as a scorecard for our carrier’s performances.
- Have weekly, monthly, and quarterly calls with carriers to go over results of KPI’s and build relationships.
- Work with Freight Analyst to create Standard Operating Procedures for Railing Outbound Shipments.
- Provide backup for poly and international shipment tendering and shipment management, and be backup to schedule Trex Drivers.
- Other duties as assigned by Transportation team.
EXPERIENCE
We are looking for individuals with one to five years of experience in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics, and a high school diploma. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Microsoft Excel experience is required as well as strong written and verbal communication skills and time management skills, JDE experience is preferred.
