Job Description:
As a Transport Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and compliant transportation of cannabis products from cultivation and manufacturing facilities to distribution centers and retail locations. This position requires a commitment to compliance with all relevant regulations, a strong attention to detail, and a focus on maintaining the integrity of the supply chain. In this position, you will report directly to the Packaging & Logistics Manager. The hours of this position are 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Transportation:
● Safely transport cannabis products from cultivation/manufacturing sites to distribution centers and retail locations.
● Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the secure and discreet delivery of products.
Compliance:
● Stay informed about and strictly adhere to local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation of cannabis products.
● Ensure all required permits and documentation are up-to-date and readily available during transportation.
Product Security:
● Implement and follow robust security measures to safeguard cannabis products during transportation.
● Collaborate with security personnel to maintain a secure supply chain.
Vehicle Maintenance:
● Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the transport vehicle to ensure its safety and compliance.
● Report any maintenance issues promptly and work with the logistics team to address them.
Communication:
● Maintain effective communication with the logistics team, providing updates on transportation schedules and any potential issues.
● Interact professionally with clients and dispensary staff during product deliveries.
Record Keeping:
● Keep accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery times, quantities, and any incidents.
● Assist in maintaining a comprehensive log of transportation-related data for compliance purposes.
General and Physical Requirements:
● Per MA state regulations, qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age, qualified to work in the US, and able to pass a background check may disqualify candidates based on MA state marijuana licensing regulations.
● Ability to sit or stand for long periods. Ability to repeat the same task for long periods of time.
● Must be able to obtain a MA state-issued Registered Agent Card.
● Must meet the physical constraints of the job. This role is labor intensive.
● Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
● Moderate to loud exposure to noise level will be experienced.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
● Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in the cannabis or closely regulated industry.
● Knowledge of cannabis transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
Skills:
● Excellent driving skills and a commitment to safety.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to handle and transport cannabis products securely and discreetly.
● Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
