Our team in Dallas currently has an opening for a Transport Driver
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES- Drives truck to destination while abiding by load safety, DOT and general safe driving guidelines. Able to drive 26,001 gross vehicle weight or more.
- Dispenses liquid oil using on board pumps, meters and hoses.
- Physically requires driver to pull/retract hose to/from customers fill site.
- Uses city, county, and, state maps.
- Listens to customer complaints ensuring that the appropriate department and/or personnel receive the complaint.
- Provides feedback to supervisor regarding customer complaints, or issues on pricing, quality, credit or need for sales representative interaction.
- Ensures the accuracy of bill of ladings and hazardous shipping paperwork.
- Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
- Maintains truck log, mileage report, and other mandated forms according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains constant communication with supervisor on all aspects of delivery, traffic, weather conditions, or equipment failure.
- Inspects truck, trailer, tires, lights, brakes, oil, and water to ensure load safety while complying with DOT standards.
- Performs minor repairs on clearance lights and adjusts brakes if needed.
- Checks loads frequently to ensure that product ride safely.
- Secures product with load bars or straps.
Education and Requirements:
- High schooldiploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one to three years' relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
- Possesses appropriate and current CDL driver's license with hazardous material endorsement.
- Proven history of safe driving as mandated by state MVR reports.
- Must be able to pass DOT regulated physical and drug screen upon hire, renewal, and randomly.
- Required to use various hand tools, load bar, straps, and cell phone.
- Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people - internal and external.Capable of completing basic mathematical calculations and entering correct information on logs and other reports.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize truckloads and delivery schedules.
- Vision correctable to within normal range for vehicle driving and completion of reports.
- Excellent navigational skills with ability to read maps, roads signs, etc.
